Airport Hotel San Juan Puerto Rico: Is It Worth It? (2024)

When you have a super early flight or get in really late in the middle of the night, it can be a real lifesaver to just check in to an airport hotel wherever you are.

In Puerto Rico, the international airport in the capital, San Juan (SJU), is not very far from the city center, and there are a variety of hotels in decent proximity to the airport, too.

But yes, there is an airport hotel at the San Juan International Airport right outside the exit. Definitely a great location for anyone with early morning flights and easy access to check-in, but let us take a closer look at the reviews for the hotel before you make up your mind.

Even though the average score of this hotel is 8 out of 10, the reviews are variable.

Some guests give top scores, while quite a few guests are commenting on facilities not being up to par.

On the pro side, a high score often goes to friendly hotel staff, good service, cleanliness, and proximity to the airport. The restaurant gets variable reviews, from horrible to great, and the breakfast has decent reviews across the board.

On the downside, the factors that get grumpy faces in reviews are the general standard of the hotel facilities and recreational amenities. Humidity in some hotel rooms is mentioned, the surrounding area outside is not beautiful, and prices are “ridiculously high.”

The hotel does have areas that have a modern look, while other parts in the corridors, etc, appear a bit more worn down and not super well-kept.

Hotel rates: The lowest online price for a standard room for an overnight stay on a weekday is $218.
