Luxury Resort Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana Review
Arriving through the doors of the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana is like walking into a calm zen oasis where the air is cool and the ambiance immediately calming.
The foyer is open and airy, and you can see straight through to the vast pool lounging zones with a great view of the beach below the foyer.
Luggage is magically taken away by a staff member, and within seconds, you find yourself sitting with a welcome drink in a lounger while the reception is organizing the check-in!

Your Elegant Suite At Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana
My suite was a resort view junior suite king with a view of the pool area, swim-up bars, and spectacular ocean views.
This 600-square-foot suite was delicately made with light colors and a clean, almost Scandinavian design, and it immediately felt very comfortable and spacious.
The Hyatt Zilara also offers swim-up suites, which allow you to move straight from your room into the pool.
I had a double-sink bathroom all to myself, and I particularly liked the detail of the sliding doors into the main space. You can gaze right out on the ocean view while having a shower.
Two cozy lounge areas, one inside and one outside, and a mini-bar stacked with snacks and drinks to enjoy while unpacking.
It was my first time here, but I can already say it is not the last!
Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana Spa
Inside an artificial cave, you find the oasis-like spa of Hyatt Zilara, and it almost looks real from the inside!
This design makes the spa ambiance special and very pleasant, including the welcome zone, the shop, and the treatment areas.
All the staff is incredibly welcoming, and the spa foyer is also delicately decorated with a comfortable place to rest while waiting for your room to be ready.
After your treatment or massage, you can enjoy a refreshing drink in the lounge area in the middle, where there is also a pool, jacuzzi, and a calm atmosphere to bring you slowly back to life.
Restaurants, Bars & Lounges
At the Hyatt Zilara, there are six different restaurants that offer a variety of gourmet experiences with tastes from across the world.
You can visit the Indian restaurant at The Maharajas’ Express, an elegant train coach designed to take you back to the great British Empire in its glory days.
Or French-Polynesian at Brando’s, or even Peruvian-Caribbean cuisine at Shutters beachside!
You will find a variety of trendy bars, a coffee shop, and a snack bar in the almost open-air lobby. There are food lounges, as well as a 24-hour room service without additional cost.
It is truly an all-inclusive resort!
The Spectacular Fitness Center at Hyatt Zilara
If you are a bit like me, having a decent gym while traveling makes it so much easier to get going on your daily workout.
The gym facilities at the Hyatt Zilara are far above average, with five different halls for designated activities, state-of-the-art equipment, and there are group sessions for workouts and yoga.
What gives the little extra is that there is a gym crew on every corner ready to help you out, and the interior design is simply astonishing – a beautiful place to stay fit.
After an hour here, you can go get some well-deserved delicious ice cream and head for the beach!
Hyatt Zilara Breakfast & Brunch
You can choose to have any meal anywhere, but may I recommend having breakfast outdoors in the garden, with a stunning view of the lower pools, the beach, and the sea.
Just remember to bring your sunglasses!
This is also where you can get your brunch snack a few hours later when you feel a bit peckish. For drinks and refreshments, you can get that anywhere on the resort grounds.
Pool Lounging At Hyatt Zilara
The main pool lounge areas in the Hyatt Zilara gardens are kept in light colors with some contrast, which contributes to a delicate feeling and even privacy, although there are other people around you.
The four-post sunbeds create this ambiance, and you can relax here throughout the day and even into the evening if you want to.
Staff will be ready at your service as the night lights are being lit, and you can head for the jacuzzis to welcome the evening.
Activities In And Around Hyatt Zilara
You can begin your morning at Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana by participating in a yoga session on the beach or enjoying a refreshing swim in one of the mesmerizing infinity pools.
Have a spa treatment (not included), or leave the adults-only haven and head over to the water park at Hyatt Ziva and find your inner child for an hour or two.
You will also find daily activities like dance classes and paint-your-own-souvenir classes in the garden area.
If you like a bit of extra thrill, there are a variety of things to do outside the resort.
Tours & Activities in Punta Cana and Cap Cana
For adventurous travelers, you can choose between a wide variety of day trips in Punta Cana.
Experience zip-lining over Punta Espada’s tropical terrain, followed by kayaking along Juanillo Beach, go whale watching or spend the day on a catamaran.
If you do not mind a longer day tour, what I really recommend is doing a tour to Samana and seeing the magnificent humpback whales if you are traveling between the 15th of December and the 31st of March.
I did that tour from Puerto Plata, but you can also do the tour from Punta Cana.
There are an almost infinite number of stunning beaches with different characteristics in the Punta Cana and Cap Cana areas if you want to explore!
At the end of the day, jump into the jacuzzi for a sunset cocktail before you need to freshen up for the evening at Hyatt Zilara.
A wonderful experience!
Hyatt Zilara Zen Beach At Sunset
Just around 6 p.m., the Twilight Zone starts on the east coast of the Dominican Republic, which is when you really want to find yourself on the beach.
There will not be a lot of other people there at that hour, so you can enjoy this beautiful experience almost by yourself!
Bring a blanket, fresh juice, or your favorite cocktail, sit on one of the sunbeds, and enjoy the magic light and wind in the palm trees around you.
Zen!
Lastly: Hyatt Zilara Check In
Check-in at the Hyatt Zilara was really a breeze. You just need to have a lounge seat, enjoy your very blue welcome drink, and worry about nothing, and within minutes you are all checked in.
Although I arrived early, that was not a problem; I was able to get my suite immediately.
On your way to your suite, you will get a quick tour of the premises as you go.
For Families: Cap Cana Hyatt Ziva All-Inclusive Resort
The Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana next door is the sister hotel of Hyatt Zilara, also an all-inclusive oasis that shares some amenities, restaurants, and bars with Hyatt Zilara.
The difference between the two is that the Hyatt Ziva is a family hotel and not only for adults like the Zilara side.
So, if you want to bring the entire family for a fun holiday to Cap Cana, this is the place!
You can explore all kinds of food regardless of where you stay; try the Italian restaurant Noodle & Thread, go for pizza, or have exquisite Asian, Caribbean, or Indian cuisine.
There is also a water adventure park connected to the Hyatt Ziva side of the hotel grounds, where the whole family can have fun.
Enjoy the water slides, kids club, and hot tubs, and there are wonderful activities also for the little kids.
