Are you ready to discover the charm of Key West, nestled on the last little key in the Florida Keys four hours away from Miami? You definitely should choose one of the Key West Suite Hotels with a private beach for your stay.
I visited Key West from Miami for the first time last summer, and I loved this quaint, tranquil, yet quite trendy “village” with such a laidback vibe!
Despite Key West’s villagy size, there are quite a few great places to choose from. This guide has narrowed it down to the four best beach places to stay in Key West.
Awesome Hotels In Key West With Private Beach
Let’s dive into these extraordinary hotels in Key West with a private beach, where every detail is handpicked to make your dream vacation a reality.
If you are looking for a cheap hotel, I have to warn you: prices in Key West hotels are not super budget-friendly for guest rooms in the beautiful resorts.
1. The Reach Hotel Key West
With a stunning private beach sitting almost at the southernmost point of the whole of the US, you find The Reach Key West Curio Collection by Hilton.
Simply an exquisite hotel with incredible sea views included, and situated in a great location in the old town in serene and elegant surroundings!
In every room here, you have your own private balcony, en-suite, bathrobes, and all the amenities you can desire.
The Reach Key West is also a short walk from the famous Duval Street, the Ernest Hemingway Museum is a short ten-minute walk from the hotel, and the Key West Golf Club is five miles out by car.
On the hotel grounds, you have a beautiful outdoor pool, lush gardens, and lounge chairs, and there is a full-service spa in the Spa al Mare right next door that is available to the guests of The Reach.
On-site activities, including scuba diving, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, and kayaking. In Key West, you also find several jet ski tour operators!
2. Pier House Hotel & Spa
Just a stone’s throw from Mallory Square in Key West sits Pier House Resort & Spa, a haven placed in the heart of the city.
The Reash also has a private beach, and in-house, you will have award-winning bars and restaurants, so if incredible food is important to you, this place is calling!
In-house, there is also a spa that will take you to other dimensions!
The restaurants have a seasonally inspired menu, and you can rest assured that the ingredients are based on freshly caught seafood and local produce.
All rooms here have custom furniture perfectly suited to their individual ambiance, and you can enjoy being surrounded by locally created art while you are living in a classic Florida architectural gem filled with light from the ocean.
All you need to do is wake up and have your breakfast and coffee right by the sea!
The Pier House Hotel and Spa are considered one of the best hotels in Key West and also one of the hotels with the best location; all the villagy Key West charm is only a few minutes outside your door.
3. Nautical Splendor Mansion
This mansion is obviously not a hotel, but a mansion, and it does not have a beach either. So, what is it doing on this list?
Well, instead of a sandy beach, the Nautical Splendor Mansion has a private dock, and the property gets standing ovations and top reviews from former guests.
A dock can be just as good for jumping into the sea unless nothing does it for you apart from white paradisiacal sands, but I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Also, if you plan on bringing your 13 best friends or extended family to Key West, this mansion sleeps 14 people. It has a pool, excellent amenities, super location, and is in all ways stunning (apart from the missing sand).
4. The Mansion On The Sea
The Mansion On The Sea in Key West is a three-star hotel with hundreds of five-star reviews; an incredibly charming villa with a superb location in the old city of Key West!
The house and property are gorgeous; the rooms are exquisite, and the outdoor pool is incredible, with sun loungers below the palmed garden sitting right on the waterfront (rocks, no sand).
Several hotel rooms have balconies with sea views, and here you have absolutely no minimalistic modern vibe!
The interior has a classic, venerable ambiance. The rooms have canopy beds, high ceilings, tall windows, and heavy curtains that embrace you.
Although there is no sandy beach directly at the hotel, it is waterfront, with a wonderful sun lounge area right by the pebbled shore where the sea comes in that you can stick your toes into!
5. Casa Marina Key West By Hilton
In May 2023, the Casa Marina Key West by Hilton closed down for a few months to undergo major renovations, and the latest reviews before the close surely indicated that a renovation was a timely effort.
I still mention this hotel in this overview, as it has a magnificent private beach. In March 2024 renovations are still ongoing, although the hotel is open for guests. Recent reviews indicate that the ongoing renovations can be annoying for guests.
Recent guests state that the hotel grounds and beach are stunning but that the renovation still affects the quality of the stay.
If you have faith, you can still book your stay at the Casa Marina Key West by Hilton in 2024.
