I love Miami; I travel solo here as often as I can, and for next year, I have plans for a girl’s trip to Miami for MY squad!

This is what it might be like: You can wake up in a luxurious hotel suite with stunning ocean views, take a morning bath, and then sip on mimosas while enjoying a delicious breakfast spread on the balcony before you head out on your Miami day.

Pffff, where do I even start?

One of the best things about Miami (apart from the beach and the weather) is its diverse culture – from Cuban influences in Little Havana to colorful street art in Wynwood and the art deco architecture in the heart of South Beach.

Then there is the shopping, the beaches, the museums, the restaurants, the nightlife, Biscayne Bay, and the list goes on and on and on!

Spend a whole day exploring one neighborhood and immersing yourself in the vibrant local scene. Or maybe even take a Cuban cooking class (over 1 million Cubans live in Miami) to learn how to make traditional Cuban dishes?

And, of course, get your AmEx going on a limitless shopping spree. Let’s go through all the stuff you need to cover on your trip to Miami!

1. Fabulous Miami Shopping

For those who love shopping and fashion, Miami will not disappoint.

Among the most renowned areas for shopping in Miami are the Downtown area and Brickell, where you find a variety of shops in different price ranges. Everything from high-end designers to more budget-famous chain brands.

On Miami Beach North Beach, you find the exclusive high-end designer stores in Bal Harbour.

Closer to South Beach, you have Lincoln Road and the famous Espanola Way, which is a super nice pedestrian zone stuffed with shops, bars, and restaurants.

Just outside the Wynwood Art District and the Design District of Miami, there are also a number of unique boutiques for scavenger hunting for one-of-a-kind pieces!

If you don’t mind a bit of transport, you might also want to consider heading out to the famous Sawgrass Mills outlet, where you might score some amazing deals!

But be aware you might get stuck there for the day.

With more than 400 retailers, including internationally recognized brand-name stores, full-service restaurants, entertainment venues, and the region’s most sought-after luxury outlets, it can be hard to get back out again!

2. Girls Trip Miami Sightseeing: Best Museums, Parks And Gardens

Miami is known for its beautiful beaches, but did you know that it’s also home to loads of stunning parks and gardens?

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and spend a tranquil day exploring places like the secluded Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.

The stunning Vizkaya House was built to resemble Italian architecture from the earliest 20th century, and the amazing gardens were created as an elegant Italian oasis in Europe in the last century!

Share a bottle of prosecco at the Vizcaya Café garden on the north side of the Main House, across from the Orchidarium.

You can also visit the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, a serene and picturesque location perfect for a relaxing afternoon with your girlfriends. Don’t forget to snap some Instagram-worthy stories while you’re there! 

For a more Latin vibe, you can stop by Little Havana. The most famous Cuban diaspora in the world is here; this is a piece of Cuba.

Get a strong Cuban coffee and a Cuba Libre, and watch the pros play a game of domino in Domino Park, the most popular game in Cuba.

I was based in Havana for two years while traveling the Caribbean islands, and in Cuba, there is never a party without at least one battle of Domino!

3. Miami Girls Trip Bottomless Mimosa Brunch

Wherever you are for lunch, at least one of them needs to be in the category “Bottomless Mimosa brunch,” if for nothing else just to experience this fun vibe, ambiance, and mood!

You can book a table for your Mimosa brunch in a modern, elegant futuristic ambiance around Downtown or have a more laidback but still elegant, beachy, airy experience over at Miami Beach.

4. Adrenaline Running Tours of Miami!

After the cultural immersion, why not get the heart and blood pumping a bit to get the energy going for the evening?

There are a variety of really cool things to do that might get your adrenaline to rise a bit and really wake you up. Intrepid chicas can do anything!

Why not do a unique Hovercraft tour on the Everglades, which is really cool! Both looking for alligators and the speed and entertaining guides talking about the history and significance of the Everglades, this is a multi-level experience.

Jet Ski tour outside the shores of Miami for an up close and personal experience with the waters of Miami (as long as you don’t mind getting salt-water-hair!).

Join a Speedboat Sightseeing Tour of Miami and drive around Biscayne Bay in a much faster fashion than the relaxing harbor cruises! (I have not done that yet, but it is on my list as soon as I get my gals traveling with me to Miami)!

5. Miami Beach & Beach Clubs

Miami is super famous for its beaches, and although the city has so much more to offer, we can not not talk about the stunning beaches in Miami in an article like this.

The “no-brainer” beach tip is naturally Miami Beach, and I am going to use this opportunity to encourage you guys to spend some time on the south beach part of Miami Beach and the lively South Point Park.

Nikki Beach Club on the tip of South Beach is all white and elegant and also laid-back, as it is a beach club where you feel the sand between your toes even though you are not on the beach completely.

If you want lunch or brunch at Nikki Beach Club, I recommend you book a table beforehand, as it is a popular place, and you don’t want to have to turn around at the door.

Apart from the iconic Miami Beach running from south to north, there are also a range of other popular beaches close to Miami Dade County.

6. Take A Chill Boat trip on Biscayne Bay

Another must-do activity on your girl’s trip to Miami is a fun boat trip or a sunset cruise.

If your group consists of sporty ladies who love water activities like snorkeling, swimming, and sliding into the water from the boat (yep, that is doable), you can rent a private boat for a few hours of the day.

If you prefer the more serene scenic tour, you might like the sunset tour version, where you can take in the stunning views in the golden light as you sail along the coast, sipping on cocktails and maybe dancing to live music?

It’s the perfect opportunity to bond with your friends while experiencing the beauty of Miami from a different perspective. Maybe this will be your happy hour place on one of your days in Miami before you hunt down great food and have a night out.

And it is more than probable that you will catch a glimpse of some celebrity homes along the way around Biscayne Bay!

7. Pampering Girls Trip Miami Spa Time 

But no girl’s trip is complete without some spa time, and Miami has plenty of options to choose from.

For my birthday this summer, I booked my treatment at the Palms Hotel & Spa in Mid Beach, Miami, starting with a zen outdoor yoga session.

I had a great time there, a super massage, a serene, relaxing area with a glass of bubbles, and a skilled and friendly therapist. A really elegant and nice place, and if you are not already staying there, you get a day pass with your treatment.

Enjoy the pool and pool bar area as long as you like, and there is also direct access to the beach from here.

One nudge up is the Tierra Santa Healing House at Faena Hotel, an incredible high-end hotel also on Mid Beach, with direct beach access, a pool, several restaurants, and an incredible lobby and lobby bar that looks like a House of Sin from Paris in the 20ies.

And a luxurious spa!

Treat yourselves to luxurious massages, facials, and other rejuvenating treatments at some of the top-rated spas in the city.

And if you’re feeling adventurous, why not try the traditional Turkish hammam experience?

8. Miami Art & Design District

Wynwood Art District has incredible street art and murals on pretty much ALL the buildings in the neighborhood, not just inside the famous Wynwood Walls Center.

Wynwood is strewn with nice cafes, bars, restaurants, art venues, food trucks, and local breweries. You find something fun and tasty to eat and drink everywhere.

You might actually want to join a food and art tour in Wynwood to get the best of both the food scene and a great guided tour of the everchanging street art.

Opt for the VIP version, and you will get a couple of cocktails as well as the foods you get to try!

The Miami Design District is “next door” to Wynwood. Instead of being filled with lots of external murals and laid-back bars and breweries, it offers more exclusive and unique art and design stores in all categories.

You find exclusive designers and one-of-a-kind clothes stores here, as well as accessories, traditional and modern artifacts, and venues for display.

You find several of the museums on the museum list in the design district, in addition to several Michelin-star restaurants, boutiques, incredible architecture, and public sculptures and

The Miami Design District is a walkable area; you can even combine it with a day at Wynwood for a whole-day immersive experience!

9. Happiest Happy Hour

For the days when you don’t have the happy hour on a boat floating around Biscayne Bay, the best city option for sunset refreshments around happy hour is to find a rooftop!

I am obsessed with rooftops, including rooftop bars, pools, restaurants, or just places to watch the sun setting on the horizon.

You know what I mean? I have gone a bit over the top researching these ones, as I am the absolute queen of rooftops!

10. Miami Evening Dining For The Girls 

Of course, we can’t forget about the food! Miami is a foodie’s paradise with an endless array of dining options – from trendy rooftop bars to cozy waterfront cafes. 

Head over to Miami Beach (unless you are there already) and make sure you guys spend one evening (or even a lovely brunch) at the Versace Mansion on South Beach, which is IN-CREDIBLE!

This house, this mansion, is filled to the brim with exquisite details, over-the-top art, and decor, and it has a level of glam that you probably have not seen a lot before.

The menu, service, and ambiance are just incredible here. 

Dining in Miami allows you to indulge in fresh seafood, Cuban delicacies, pizza or a juicy burger, and mouthwatering desserts while enjoying the warm ocean breeze.

And don’t forget to try some of the famous Miami cocktails like mojitos and caipirinhas.

11. Miami Nightlife Queens

There’s no place quite like Miami when it comes to nightlife. From trendy rooftop bars to hip nightclubs, this city knows how to party! 

If you are into Latin vibes and rhythms, this is when you want to visit the Little Havana neighborhood, the most famous Cuban exile neighborhood on the planet.

Little Havana is a piece of Cuba: everywhere you go, there are salsa rhythms, you can get Cuban cigars, coffee in the Cuban ventanitas, and a bottle of rum to take home!

Apart from the Latin Quarters, here is a collection of really good nightlife options for your Miami Girls Trip Night Edition!

Club Space Miami is for electronic lovers. It has been one of Miami’s most popular electronic clubs for over twenty years and features DJs from all over the world. Arrive before 11 p.m. to avoid a queue, and the club is open until 4 a.m.

Offering a sophisticated and intimate ambiance for music lovers who want to enjoy their favorite DJs, enter the Do Not Sit On The Furniture Club, with this rather unusual name.

This club highlights being an underground movement dedicated to “injecting life, meaning, and culture” into the Miami underground club scene.

Winner of, among other awards, the Winner of the prestigious “Best New Concept” award, E11EVEN Miami Club is a high-energy nightly dance and music playground.

Enjoy the luxury and sophistication here, a one-of-kind experience where some of the world’s biggest stars and DJs perform regularly!

Depending on the vibe in your squad, you may or may not enjoy an evening at the Dirty Rabbit in Wynwood! This is a 21+ Adult Night Club that lives up to its rep, and the evening might evolve into the naughty side!

Oasis Wynwood is a 35.000-square-foot bar, food hall, and music venue that offers an evening concept where you can spend the whole night. With outdoor and indoor lounge seating, it is a great full-concept place if you don’t want to bounce around to several venues in one evening.

Lastly, the iconic LIV Club, which is part of the Fontainbleu, one of the best hotels in Miami, offers one of the best nightclub experiences as well. Check the website for events and reservations, and here, reservations are very smart. Dont risk anything!

Where To Stay: Girls Trip Miami Cribs

Where you stay WILL MATTER!

On the trips we have taken in my squad (usually in Europe), we have learned one thing: it is so much more fun if we live together and not separately one-on-one in a hotel room!

It gets messier, definitely, and louder, but helluva lot more fun!

We do this in a couple of ways: we rent an Airbnb, VRBO, or any of the booking apps and find the PERFECT apartment or suite, preferably with a kitchen with an ice machine and a rooftop pool on the terrace of the building!

As a minimum, we need a mini fridge for chillin’ the champagne!
