I will repeat until my face turns green that traveling solo as a female is so rewarding. It offers a unique opportunity for self-discovery, independence, adventure, and freedom- just to mention a few perks.

And August is an ideal month for explorations; the crowds are heading home, temperatures drop, and so do prices.

The island is an incredible destination; when I visited it a few years back, I was surprised by how trendy, artsy, and modern the capital, Reykjavik, was.

At the same time, Iceland (such a small country with only half a million inhabitants) has protected its nature, culture, heritage, and history and has so many incredible places to visit!

There are so few people living in Iceland that they actually have created an app for the dating scene where you can check that a person you want to go on a date with is not related to you! Imagine that!
